Jessica had one last look at the book, then closed it with determination and put it her bag. The paperback book was so well-read you could barely make out the text on the back of it. "How to Marry a Millionaire".
Jessica opened the door to the expensive restaurant and looked at her image in the big mirror
on the wall. She looked like a million dollars in her borrowed dress and high heels. Which was exactly the point.
She had had enough of working on minimum pay and fighting to make the ends meet. When she had found the book at a second-hand bookshop, she had know she had finally found her answer.
She looked into the restaurant, going through all the men and then she saw him. A young and good-looking man in fashionable suit, sitting at a corner table. She went to the bar, waiting to get her table (and counting her money in her mind, wondering if it would be enough for a salad) and all that time the young man sat alone, waiting for his order.
- Your table is waiting for you, the head waiter appeared.
Jessica gathered all her courage.
- Would you mind terribly if I sat with my friend over there instead? She managed to sound self confident, - Over there in the corner. I had no idea he would be here tonight.
- Not at all, Madam, follow me please.
And they started walking towards the table of the young man she had never seen before in her life.
